There are many things I consider when joining a band. I am pretty open minded although some of my close friends might see this and fall off of thier chairs.

Unless I am being paid to be tortured by you then these are some of the things I look for when joining an original band.

(1) The drummer has to have a killer meter. He or she does not have to be Lenny White but timing is everything.

(2) A unique sound.

(3) I have to have my opinion heard and taken seriously at the very least. (unless you are paying me to be your bass zombie)

(4) Everyone doing thier homework and showing up at practice with their shit together. I dont stick around long if we are spinning our wheels.

(5) Everyone has to be on time for practice. I will not sit around waiting for some asshole with an ego who thinks I have nothing better to do besides wait for him to show up because they are the lead person or whatever.

(6) Unless there is a vehicle problem here and there I drive to practice alone and leave alone. Im not a taxi.

(7) If the band has more eyeliner than talent I am not interested. Unless you are hot chicks or paying me of course.

(8) Secure practice space where we can leave our gear is a must.

Things I can offer a band

 (1) I have good gear. Bass, recording, small P.A..

(2) Commitment to the project at hand. I dont stretch myself too thin.

(3) On time wherever I need to be.

(4) I have tons of original riffs and such. I am willing to throw them into a project and forget about them as long as my ideas are credited and we keep paperwork accordingly. I do not give things away. You just never know when someone will steal your idea and make money from it. I would expect the same from others and dont take this kind of stuff personally.
